Beach House - "Norway"

I'm not usually one for jumping on bandwagons (except for this kind), but Baltimore-based dream pop band Beach House seriously owned with their upcoming album Teen Dream (January 26, 2010). Owned, like pwned, or as they say on the interweb, Serious Business. Their traditional downtempo sound feels livelier - it's constantly accentuated by amped-up acoustic guitars and the soothing hums of keyboards. It's distinctive, it's tasty, it's practically Earl Grey.

And they released their song Norway for free! To download! Legally! So you best be eating up this tune, because it shimmers like their Brooklyn counterparts Grizzly Bear (BH vocalist Victoria LeGrand sings backup on Two Weeks and New Moon single Slow Life) while maintaining their own unique astral sound. -- PC
